On August 16, 2024, a delegation of five people from National Library Board of Singapore (NLB) led by Mr. Yap lan, Director of Resource Discovery & Management Division, visited Shanghai Library East.

The visit was paid for the purpose of knowing more about the linked open data of Shanghai Library. Director Chen Chao showed the delegation around the main sectors of Shanghai Library East and the application of open data in each theme library, including the AI robot on the first floor, the smart bookshelves on the third floor, the Genealogy Library and Local Archives Library on the fourth floor, the Music Library and Art Library on the fifth floor, and theTreasured Collections Library on the seventh floor.

After visiting the library, Vice Director Xu Qiang held talks with the delegation in the third meeting room. Librarians of the System Network Center introduced the development and application of the Digital Humanities Tools and Platform of Shanghai Library. The two sides held in-depth discussion on the difficulties in practicing digital humanities. Director Yap lan said that every visit to Shanghai Library was rewarding and expressed the hope of keeping the cooperation and exchanges and making mutual improvements.
