On April 16, 2024, Félix Ulloa, El Salvador Vice President-elect, and leader of the New Ideas Party visited the Shanghai Library East with a delegation. Chen Chao, Director of the Shanghai Library, warmly welcomed Vice President Ulloa.
Accompanied by Director Chen Chao, Vice President Ulloa visited the atrium, the Pokémon Reading Room and the Treasured Collections Library on the 7th  floor,  and the Reading Square on the 3rd  floor. Vice President Ulloa came into the City Living Room on the 7th floor to watch the work of experts of the library’s Restoration Department. On behalf of the Shanghai Library, Director Chen Chao presented finished rubbing work to Vice President Ulloa.

Vice President Ulloa thanked Director Chen Chao for his warm reception. Both sides hoped that the libraries of the two countries would establish a cooperative relationship and learn from each other in the future.
