On March 13, 2024, Yang Chunhua, Secretary of the Shanghai Library Committee of the Communist Party of China, received Mr. Steve Nickle, Multi-area Manager of Asia, Pacific and Africa and Mr. Derek Au, Asia Representative, FamilySearch International, in the reception room on the 7th floor of the Library East. Both parties exchanged ideas on cooperation, communication, and mutual learning in the genealogy project, and presented books to each other.

After the meeting, Mr. Steve Nickle and Derek Au visited areas such as the Treasured Collections Library on the 7th floor, the Genealogy Library and AR Experience on the 4th floor, and the Reading Square on the 3rd floor. Personnel from the Historical Document Center, Reading and Promotion Center, and International Cooperation Division also participated in this event.
