On July 18, 2023, the "Everyone Talking about Ancient Books" serial events of the Shanghai Library had its first lecture. Gao Keqin, an expert on the organization and publishing of ancient books, former Director of the Shanghai Ancient Books Publishing House, was invited as the first guest to give a lecture with the theme of "Transmitting Chinese Culture and Producing Heritage Works", sharing his insights on doing a good job in ancient book organization and publishing.

The original intention of the Shanghai Library in planning this serial lectures is, on the one hand, to make the content of ancient books come alive, and on the other hand, allow more people to come closer to ancient books and delve deeper into the old texts, in order to learn and understand our excellent traditional culture.
It is planned to have more than ten lectures, which will rely on the Shanghai Library's new media matrix, using the combination of "online" and "offline" methods to "resurrect" the vast amount of ancient books in a form that readers can enjoy, making those characters in the dusty ancient books jump back to life and make ancient books "within reach".
