The First "Reading Forest" in China Is Open!

The first "Reading Forest" in China, jointly built by the Shanghai Pudong New Area and Shanghai Library, recently opened to the public!
The "Reading Forest" is located in the south of the Shanghai Library East, covering an area of more than 20,000 square meters, connecting the south gate of the Shanghai Library East, the Exit 3 of the Shanghai Science and Technology Museum Station of Metro Line 2, and the gates on the Century Avenue and Jinxiu Road. On the basis of preserving the original appearance of the forest as a whole, the function of "reading under the trees + walking for oxygen" is implanted. In the forest, there are circular boardwalks through the forest and sleeper benches.

When standing in the City Living Room on the seventh floor of the Shanghai Library East, you can overlook the whole "Reading Forest", as well as enjoying the view of such landmark buildings as the Century Park, Shanghai Science and Technology Museum, Shanghai Museum East and other buildings in Lujiazui.

The urban planning and construction of Shanghai adheres to the principle of unbounded integration and unbounded innovation, and always implements the systematic idea of "the city as an organic body". The Shanghai Library East is committed to building a "smart hybrid library in the era of big reading", and through policy coordination and innovation, it promotes the integrated planning and design, opens the library auxiliary green space, and constantly strengthens the spatial compensation of the library and various urban functions, so as to match the production, living, and ecological spaces, and demonstrate high-quality development and high-quality life.

"Reading Forest" is looking forward to meeting you!
