On the afternoon of November 15, 2023, Lv Zhipeng, Director of the Macau Public Library Management Department and a delegation of four visited the Shanghai Library East. Director Chen Chao accompanied Director Lv and his delegation to visit the children's reading area on the first floor, intelligent bookshelves on the third floor, theme libraries on the fourth and fifth floors, and the Treasured Collections library on the seventh floor. The two sides exchanged information on the development of each other's libraries and the future development trend of libraries as a third space in the reception room on the seventh floor.

Afterwards, both parties exchanged books and took a group photo. Director Chen Chao subsequently accompanied the delegation to visit the "Great Han Style" exhibition of the Han Dynasty rubbings and rare books in the Shanghai Library collection.
Previously, the staff of the International Exchange Office also accompanied the delegation to visit the Bibliotheca Zi-Ka-Wei and Zikawei Library and have discussions with the librarians.
