In one year since its opening, nearly 2 million readers visited the library, with over 2.7 million books circulated. More than 1,000 reading promotion activities were held, attracting 13 million people to participate in the online and onsite events. On September 28th, the Shanghai Library East celebrated its first anniversary with a series of special activities.

In the morning, more than 700 readers gathered in the Reading Theater on the first floor of the library building to participate in the screening of the documentary "Encountering Books - Shanghai Library East". Four representatives from different fields told stories about their experience in the Shanghai Library East. 
   

In the afternoon, the concert and global debut ceremony of the album "Strolling through Music - Shanghai Library East Theme Music Collection" was held. After the concert, the performance team continued to provide readers with music accompanying their reading, so that they could enjoy a new experience in the beautiful atmosphere of "reading + music".
