BRICS Libraries Alliance Online Meeting

On June 28, 2022, as rotating chairman library of the 2022 BRICS Libraries Alliance, the National Library of China invited the directors of member libraries to hold the BRICS Libraries Alliance Online Meeting.
Xiong Yuanming, Director of the National Library of China, gave a report on the theme of "From Digital Library to Smart Library---The Case of the National Library". Chen Ying, Deputy Director of the National Library of China, chaired the meeting.
Luiz C. Ramiro Jr., Director of the National Library of Brazil, Pavel Lushnikov, Deputy Director of the National Library of Russia, Ajay Pratap Singh, Director of the National Library of India and Kebi Madumo, National Librarian and CEO of the National Library of South Africa attended the meeting and gave introductions to their libraries, including digital collections, digitization, artificial intelligence applications, and etc.

The BRICS Libraries Alliance is an important part of the Agreement between the Governments of the BRICS States on Cooperation in the Field of Culture. It was initiated by the National Library of China in 2017, and the national libraries of China, Brazil, Russia, India and South Africa serve as rotating chair every year to host the Alliance Meeting.
