The following brief introduction is about the classical and innovative cases on space reconstruction of civilian libraries in our country.

The aim of this space design is to create the interactive space in single person unit. On the premise of unchanged original building structure, with distinct design method of combination of “wrapping” and “decomposition” and creating scenario reading space in the form of several “boxes”, users can choose private reading and leisure space in “small box”, or choose to enter the open culture communication sharing space.

Using the high window design formed by the difference in height, natural lighting, fresh air and bamboo forest scenery are effectively brought in reading and leisure space indoor, prompting the service space to possess the experience environment for contemporary regional reading and leisure life.
Zhejiang “Companion”Book House along lake: Reflection of humanities concept
“Companion”, on the one hand, refers to this empty old building can accompany the local residents after its reconstruction, providing them with ideal and comfortable living and leisure reading space. And on the other hand, local building aesthetics is reflected by the building construction style, with book house building base formed by using building old walls as half of broken walls.
Guangzhou Tangning Bookstore: Introduction of green concept
The bookstore introduces “Ecology Green” environmental protection concept and cultural connotation into interior space design, with scientific and rational function distribution, obvious static and moving characteristics. A number of different types of high-quality green pot plants are placed in bookstore interior space. Decoration materials are the natural ones, such as wood floors, concrete bricks and terrazzo, creating a reading and leisure environment with eco-environmental protection, and fresh and natural features.
