The first domestic airport public library branch is now open to the public

The world-renowned internet-famous place – Beijing Daxing Airport has new arrival! In July 2021, Capital Library Daxing Airport Branch settled in the terminal and became the largest single brand space. As the first domestic total factor library opened in airport, it provides extra-long-time service from 8 AM to 8 PM, annual restless. Also, it provides readers with registration, borrowing, remote returning, browsing free digital resource database and other real convenience and welfare.
Capital Library Daxing Airport Branch is a collaboration between Capital Library and Daxing Airport. It is not only the first domestic public library branch opened in the airport, but also the currently largest public library in the airport. Meanwhile, it has several first services:
The first library to provide lending service in the airport
The first one to realize borrowing and returning books by phone in the airport
The first one to realize remote borrowing and returning in the airport
The first one to provide virtual librarian service in the airport
The first one to realize finding books by robot

 

Aiming at demands of tourists from different regions, library is divided into two spaces, and the open service area is about 500 square meters. There are several special bookshelves, such as art, biography, places in Beijing, foreign languages, literature, traveling, etc. There are over 3,500 books for readers to borrow and read. Smart service is the great characteristic of this space. The interactive screen at the door can provide the real-time information of flights and weather. The greeting robot, Xiao Tu, can assist readers with finding the book. The open borrowing space creates the scholarly atmosphere of reading while waiting for the flight.
As for the next step, Capital Library Daxing Airport Branch will hold citizen concert, new book sharing meeting, family book club and other activities, creating more personalized experience for tourists.
