In April 2020, the results of the 17th national reading survey will be officially released. The data shows that in 2019, the comprehensive reading rate of various media including books, newspapers and digital publications of China's adult citizens is 81.1%, which is 0.3% higher than 80.8% in 2018; the contact rate of digital reading (online reading, mobile reading, e-reader reading, pad reading, etc.) is 79.3%, which is 3.1% higher than 76.2% in 2018. The comprehensive reading rate has been keeping growing f in a row for many years.
What’s more, in the government work report of 2021, "Advocating Nationwide Reading" was put forward again, which is the eighth time since 2014 that "Nationwide Reading" has been written into the government work report.
