In the morning of February 5, 2021, Mr. Kim Seungho, Consul General of the Republic of Korea in Shanghai, and his colleagues visited the Shanghai Library. Mr. Chen Chao, Director of the Shanghai Library, received the delegation on behalf of the Shanghai Library.

Director Chen gave Mr. Consul General an introduction to the development of the Shanghai Library and the Shanghai Library East Building, as well as the cooperation with Korean libraries over the years. Mr. Consul General said that he hoped to have further exchanges with the Shanghai Library in setting up communication windows for each other and holding exhibitions jointly. Director Chen responded that in the future, China and Korea can further expand the "Window of Shanghai" experience and explore the possibilities of cooperation in public lectures and library collection exhibitions. Director Chen also hoped that the Korean Consulate in Shanghai would promote the reader activities of the Shanghai Library among the Korean expatriates in Shanghai.

After the meeting, accompanied by Director Chen, Mr. Consul General and his party visited the document restoration room, the genealogy reading room, the foreign language reading room on the fourth floor, the Korean book shelf, the comprehensive reading room, the Chinese book circulation room, the building models of the Shanghai Library and Shanghai Library East Building, the big data screen and etc.

Mr. Kim Seki and other Consuls from the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Shanghai also presented at today's reception.
