At 2 pm on Nov.8th, 2021, EU Illustration Books Exchange Activity, organized by Shanghai Library and EU Consulates General in Shanghai, was grandly held in Catalog Hall, on the 1st floor of Shanghai Library.
Over 20 EU Consulates General in Shanghai provided more than 100 illustration books for this activity and these books would be donated to Shanghai Library for free after the activity.

Chen Chao, Director of Shanghai Library, first extended welcome and gratitude to all the guests who engaged in the activity and he congratulated on the success of this EU Illustration Books Exhibition.

Mrs. Mira Lesjak thanked the Director and the staff of Shanghai Library for their contribution to the activity. Also, she hoped that readers could enjoy the fun of learning and feel the meaning of education. Director Chen told the guests that Shanghai Library East Building would be open to the public by the end of this year or early next year in Pudong. He hoped that Consulates General in Shanghai could take this opportunity to carry out more cooperation and exchange with Shanghai Library.

Representatives of EU countries’ consulates in Shanghai then introduced their donated illustration books on site or by video. After the activity, these books will be on display in the Catalog Hall of Shanghai Library for one week, from November 8 to November 14.
