In October,2021, Director of Dongguan Library, Li Donglai, was interviewed by chinalibs.net and expressed that, Smart Library was a method or solution of integrating the information technology to promote and activate the library resources in the new era and new technical environment.
 He said, Smart Library should be application-oriented and  should face and solve problems. Instead of simply adding various new technologies together, Smart Library should use modern information technology, especially new AI technology, to improve the competence of library. Ultimately, Smart Library was still a library, which meant  the key was to increase capacity of library, improve service function, extend service range and rebrand service image.
