According to the report of chinalibs.net, on Sep. 28th, 2021, the Yangtze River Delta Online Borrowing Service Union was initiated by Shanghai Yangpu Library and was co-sponsored by related public libraries in the Yangtze River Delta area.
The aim of the union was to advance the reading of entire citizens and construction of scholarly society, to enhance the cooperation among libraries and business researches, to promote the development of public cultural integration. 12 public libraries signed the covenant, including Shanghai Yangpu Library, Kunshan Library, Suzhou Wujiang Library, Suzhou Wuzhong Library, Yangzhou Library, Lu’an Library, Ningbo Yinzhou Library, Changzhou Wujin Library, Jinling Library, Nanjing Liuhe Library, Nanjing Jiangbei New Area Library and Wuxi Xishan Library. Special editions of bookplates were issued, which presented regional cultural characteristics. Meanwhile, the reading promotion activity “Joyful Reading in Yangtze River Delta” was launched.
Nowadays, member libraries of Yangtze River Delta area have established 127 self-borrowing service points. Several reading brands have become the new highlights of city culture, for instance, “Scholarly Lucheng” of Kunshan Library, “Reading express•Joyful study” of Yangzhou Library, “Online Book Hailing” of Yinzhou Library.
