As a popular culture, animation has a profound impact on people's way of life, and has given birth to the public demand for animation reading. As a result, domestic animation libraries have been set up. A new upsurge in library animation service platforms is in the making.

From the perspective of the construction subject, library animation service platforms can be divided into three types: public libraries, children libraries and college libraries, which is showing diversified characteristics. From the geographical location analysis, it is mainly concentrated in the Bohai Rim region, the Yangtze River Delta region, the Pearl River Delta region, Taiwan and other economically developed regions, which has a strong correlation with the development and prosperity of the animation industry. Meanwhile, different libraries focus on different resources according to different service objects.

Animation service is divided into two parts: regular service and characteristic promotion activities, including circulation service and information service. Animation characteristic promotion activities mainly include lectures, exhibitions, competitions, reading clubs/societies, animation festivals and other types. To meet the needs of industrial development, Dongguan Comics Library and Nanjing Comics Library both have an animation industry exhibition area.
