Recently, the London Book Fair has announced the nomination list for the 2020 International Excellence Awards. A new record that Institutions from 29 countries and regions were shortlisted has set. Among them, Shanghai Library was nominated for the Best Library Award of the year.
The London Book Fair International Excellence Awards are international book industry awards jointly issued by the London Book Fair and the British Publishers Association. It has been held for 7 years as a grand event of the international publishing industry. There are 18 awards to award outstanding representatives in the global publishing industry.
At the same time, Johannesburg City Library in South Africa and Maadi Public Library in Egypt were also shortlisted for this award. The judges will evaluate whether the library can effectively promote reading and provide free reading space for the whole people, whether it can establish innovative cooperation mode, whether it can effectively attract new readers, whether it can effectively promote new technology to attract readers to read books in its collection, and whether it can contribute to community knowledge and learning.
The final list of winners will be announced at the award ceremony of London Book Fair on March 10, 2020.
