Tianjin Binhan Library tops the list of 100 worlds greatest places of TIME
| Recently the Time magazine released a list of 100 world’s greatest places that are worth experiencing. Among them, Tianjin Binhan Library tops the list of the greatest destinations to visit. According to the Times, “a gleaming new ziggurat has attracted more than 1.8 million visitors since it opened in October 2017. It helps that the nearly 363,000-sq.-ft. facility, designed by Dutch firm MVRDV, looks like something out of a sci-fi movie, replete with stark white interiors and terraced shelves that cascade from floor to ceiling. All told, it has the capacity to hold more than 1.35 million books. It’s a “social space that also promotes reading and inspiration,” says Winy Maas, a director at MVRDV. |

| The Binhai Library located at the cultural center of Binhai New Area has gone viral due to its futuristic sci-fi design. Famous picture website BoredPanda calls it “world’s coolest library,” saying its internal structure is so beautiful that it would “take your breath away.” The Newsweek magazine says the library is “every book lover’s dream.” The Daily Mail newspaper called it world’s “ultimate library.” |
