Okinawa Prefectural Library Delegation Visits Shanghai Library

On July 3, 2018, accompanied by Mr. Nagatake Ohama, Head of the Shanghai Office of Okinawa Prefecture Government, Mr. Tadashi Arakaki, Director of the Okinawa Prefectural Library, visited the Shanghai library.
Mr. Chen Chao, Director of the Shanghai Library, received the Okinawa delegation. The two sides exchanged views on the collections, staffs, use of e-books, reading rates, and construction of new libraries. Later, the two directors signed a memorandum of cooperation between the two libraries on behalf of their respective libraries. The Okinawa Prefectural Library is the 158th "Window of Shanghai" of the Shanghai Library and the 4th partner in Japan. Both parties look forward to expanding the depth and width of cooperation, using this book donation of the "Window of Shanghai" as a starting point. After the signing ceremony, Director Chen accompanied the guests to visit the Shanghai Library. |
