A three-member group led by James K. M. Cheng, Librarian of Harvard-Yenching Library, visited Shanghai Library at 10am on March 14, 2018.

Liu Wei, deputy curator of Shanghai Library, met with Cheng at the VIP room. Also joined the meeting were Zhao Liang, director of the system network center, Gong Jiawei, deputy director of the international exchange department, Han Chunlei, deputy director of the information processing center, and Guo Lixuan from the historical documents center.

During the meeting, the two sides agreed to continue deepening the cultural exchange between the two libraries, and came up with some great suggestions on building up resources of rare ancient books, genealogy books and chorography books.

After the meeting, Liu showcased to the guests the under-construction digital platform that features ancient books, genealogy books and name authority files, which were highly appraised by the overseas counterparts.
