China-CEEC Libraries Union Established in Hangzhou
With a theme focusing on “Cooperation•Networking•Sharing”, the 1st China-CEEC (Central and Eastern European Countries) Curators’ Forum of Libraries Union was successfully held on 19-22 October in Hangzhou. Statement on Establishment of China-CEEC Libraries Union and Action Plan on China-CEEC Libraries Union (2019-2020) were adopted during joint session, which marked the official establishment of the Union. 61 libraries from China-CEEC, represented by 160 participants from home and abroad, became members of the Union. | |||
Joint Session: Two-file Discussion
On October 20, Joint Session was held, in which Statement on Establishment of China-CEEC Libraries Union and Action Plan of China-CEEC Libraries Union, the two files on which the Union are based, were fully supported by all delegates, followed by a signing ceremony hosted by Lu Xiaolong, deputy director of Hangzhou Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, TV, Film, Press and Publication, China. |

Opening Ceremony
Hosted by Sun Yongrong, the general director of Hangzhou Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, TV, Film, Press and Publication, the opening ceremony was held right after the announcement of the establishment of the libraries union. Chen Weiqiang, member of leadership of Hangzhou Municipal Government, Sun Bo, member of the leadership of Bureau of International Exchanges and Cooperation, Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the People’s Republic of China, Rao Quan, general director of National Library of China and Ren Qun, member of the leadership of Zhejiang Provincial Cultural Department, delivered speeches. |
