9th Shanghai International Library Forum (SILF 2018) Kicks Off at Shanghai Library
With the theme of "Library for All: Towards a Smarter and Inclusive Society," the 9th Shanghai International Library Forum (SILF2018) raised its curtain on October 19, 2018 at Shanghai Library.
A total of 269 delegates from 23 countries and regions attended the forum, including experts and representatives in the library industry from home and abroad, and also Shanghai Library’s global partners on the Window of Shanghai project. The forum provides not only a platform for experts, scholars and professionals to display products, exchange ideas and seek cooperation, but also a theoretical guideline for the future development of libraries, thanks to its broad yet insightful discussions. The theme of the forum, as well as its eight sub-themes like“Digital humanities and library services,” have been highly recognized by the forum attendees as they conform to the era of Internet and are closely related to the hot topics in the library industry. The forum received nearly 100 papers from 12 countries and regions. A total of 48 representatives exchanged their ideas via keynote speeches, specific reports and seminars, including research findings, academic progress and development plans, providing a solid theoretical and practical foundation for Shanghai Library to build a smart library. |
