“Global Contest on Excellent Traditional Chinese Culture” Promotes Overseas Reading
How to expand national reading to overseas students and make 1,300,000 Chinese students in foreign countries become the communicators of Chinese culture? To this end, China Overseas-Educated Scholars Development Foundation is actively pushing national reading among overseas students through “Global Contest on Excellent Traditional Chinese Culture”.
It is planned to carry out the activity among tens of thousands of Chinese students studying at 1000 foreign schools, so as to set off, through cyber interaction, video transmission, traditional culture book club, and preliminary contest to honor “traditional Chinese cultural messenger”, their craze for reading, and to cultivate and enhance overseas students and global Chinese people’s cultural confidence.
The event aims to attract overseas students and global Chinese people by opening participation platform, launching micro-blog topics, carrying out reading exchange activities among overseas students, and recording the program entitled “My Chinese Heart”; the second is to highlight the feature of storytelling, and combine with character stories and regional stories to fully display overseas students’ passion, understanding and inheritance of traditional Chinese culture; the third is to highlight the feature of public welfare, and guide overseas students to actively participate in “Hope Reading Public Action” by performing “Hope Reading Public Action” to donate to rural schools reading corners and help rural children in reading, so as to embody the responsibilities and commitments of the sponsor China Overseas-Educated Scholars Development Foundation as a national public welfare organization.
