CCTV “Reading Pavilion” Joins Hands with Local Libraries for a Wave of Reading
| “Reader” is a big cultural and emotional variety show launched by CCTV and adopts a mode that combines personal growth, emotional experience, background story and masterpiece; with the simplest emotions, the guests of the show will choose exquisite words to read the values beyond literal meanings. In late January, reading pavilion, one of the show’s offline activities, was formally put into operation. Up to now, reading pavilion has appeared in Beijing, Guangzhou, Hangzhou, Shanghai and Xi’an. In the reading pavilion, there is a set of professional video equipment, and the reader can read his/her favorite article to his/her friends and relatives as well as to himself/herself. This time, reading pavilion was located near libraries, one of local cultural landmarks, and this has set off a wave of reading in the readers and local people. The first reading pavilion was located at the gate of National Library of China, and then, others “drifted” to Guangzhou Provincial Zhongshan Library, Zhejiang Provincial Library, Hangzhou Library, and Shanghai Library …. In every city, there were hundreds of readers queuing up for the activity. Every reader’s reading process will be videoed, and the reading materials will be sent back to Beijing and may appear in the show. |
