Taipei Hosts the Second Cross-Strait Summit Forum on Ancient Books
APRIL 19th 2016 saw the opening of the 2nd “Cross-Strait Summit Forum on Ancient Books” in the city of Taipei, an event jointly organized by China Association of Ancient Books Preservation and the Society of Taiwan Ancient Works Protection.
It was participated by some 60 attendees from libraries, universities and colleges and academic institutions from across the strait, including the Shanghai Library delegation led by Huang Xian-gong, the Head of the Historic Documentation Center, for discussions on topics such as the genealogy and ancient correspondence items, the preservation, remediation and cataloguing practices, the collection building and so on. A form of retreat dedicated to scholars and practitioners of the ancient works preservation and conservation, the event also aims to pragmatic approaches for further deepening the cross-strait exchange around the subject matter. The forum took place in different venues such as the Cai Yuanpei Memorial based in Academia Sinica and the Chung-Shan Building of the Yangming Mountain. |
