Shanghai Library (Institute of Scientific and Technical Information of Shanghai) Named as the Public Culture Research Base of the Ministry of Culture
Leaders of Shanghai Library (Institute of Scientific and Technical Information of Shanghai) Appointed as Members of the Committee of Experts of the 3rd National Public Culture Service System Construction
On July 28, the Committee of Experts of the 3rd National Public Culture Service System Construction was established in Beijing. Director of Shanghai Library Wu Jianzhong was appointed by the Ministry of Culture of the People’s Republic of China as vice chairman of the Committee of Experts, and vice curator Liu Wei was appointed as member of the Committee of Experts. To establish the Committee of Experts is an important measure to promote the scientific development of public culture service system construction and the needs of the Ministry of Culture to accelerate the transformation of government functions and to realize democratic and scientific decision-making. Meanwhile, to further bring organs’ functions into full play and to form team force, Shanghai Library (Institute of Scientific and Technical Information of Shanghai) and Peking University were named as public culture research bases of the Ministry of Culture. According to the general requirements of modern public culture service system construction, and concerning policy theories and practical innovations in public culture, these bases will do multi-level, interdisciplinary, forward-looking and targeted researches; cultivate and train high-quality talents in public culture; explore and promote discipline construction and major setting in public culture; and provide decision consulting, intellectual support and theoretical guarantee for public cultural development.
