Exhibition Entitled “The Chinese People’s Anti-Japanese War from an International Perspective • Shanghai Memory” Opened at Shanghai Library
 The Opening Ceremony
The year of 2015 is the 78th anniversary of “Lugou Bridge Incident” and the 70th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese people’s anti-Japanese war and the world’s ant-fascist war. On July 7, an exhibition entitled “The Chinese People’s Anti-Japanese War from an International Perspective • Shanghai Memory” was opened at Shanghai Library. The exhibition was sponsored by CPPCC Shanghai Committee and undertaken by Cultural and Historical Materials Committee under CPPCC Shanghai Committee, Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences, CPC History Research Office under CPC Shanghai Committee, Historical Research Office under Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences, Shanghai Library, Shanghai United Media Group, and Shanghai Audio and Video Data Center. At the opening ceremony which was presided over by Vice Chairman of CPPCC Shanghai Committee Jiang Liang, another Vice Chairman of CPPCC Shanghai Committee Gao Xiaomei delivered a speech. Dr. Wu Jianzhong, member of CPPCC Shanghai Committee and director of Shanghai Library, attended the ceremony.

Most of the valuable materials at the exhibition have been shown in Shanghai for the first time. Altogether, 145 photos and 7 videos were displayed at the exhibition, including Carlson’s Archives. The exhibition was divided into three parts: “Irrefutable Evidence of the Invasion”, “National Anti-Japanese War”, and “United Anti-fascist Frontier”. These materials are mainly from the foreign media, publications, reporters and foreigners in Shanghai at that time, and most of them have been shown for the first time.
