"Four Seasons of Shanghai" Photo Exhibition Unveiled in Belgrade
On April 20, 2015, with great support from Mr. Goran Vasiljević, President of the Far East Society of Serbian, and his wife Ms. Marina Pop-Cenić, an expert Chinese teacher, the "Four Seasons of Shanghai" Photo Exhibition was unveiled in Belgrade City Hall. Celebrities of all walks of life from both Serbia and Shanghai and hundreds of local citizens attended the opening ceremony.
Before the photo exhibition, more than twenty students who are studying Chinese language in the “Window of Shanghai” Cultural Exchange Center in Serbia recited three Chinese ancient poems and two modern poems about Shanghai. Then, together with the honored guests, they sang two Chinese songs — "My Chinese Heart" and "Friends", creating a friendly atmosphere for the opening of the exhibition. The following "Four Seasons of Shanghai" exhibition opened a new window for the Belgrade citizens to better understand Shanghai and China, and hence established a closer friendship between the people of Serbia and China. Back in 2009, aiming at introducing China and Chinese culture in Serbia, the Shanghai Library and the Far East Society started the "Window of Shanghai" cooperation. Thanks to the donated books and regularly updated supplements from the Shanghai Library, the Cultural Center of Belgrade University successfully established the "Window of Shanghai" Reading Room and Chinese Cultural Exchange Center, which offers free Chinese language classes and activities about Chinese culture. Besides books, the Shanghai Library also donated props, costumes, and folk supplies to the Far East Society for their Chinese performances, shows and other related activities. In the 2012 and 2014 “Shanghai Get-together” Contest, Serbian students learning Chinese in the Far East Society achieved good results. |
