“2015 Exhibition of Shanghai’s Fine Block Print Works” Held at Shanghai Library

| Co-sponsored by Chinese Cultural Celebrities’ Manuscripts Museum under Shanghai Library and Block Print Art Committee under Shanghai Artists’ Association, “2015 Exhibition of Shanghai’s Fine Block Print Works” was held at Shanghai Library on April 25-28. As an artistic form with the closest relation with libraries, block print works are one of the main objects of art collected by foreign libraries. In 2009, Shanghai Library began to cooperate with Shanghai Artists’ Association. With both parties’ unremitting efforts and block print artists’ support, “Exhibition of Shanghai’s Fine Block Print Works for the Year” has been successfully held for 7 years in a row, winning praises of all walks of life and drawing attention from world famous art institutions. For the past 7 years, the collection of block print works has been increasingly grown, and a total of 452 pieces of works have been collected. Besides 45 pieces of works carefully chosen from the works collected this year, added with some fine block print works exhibited before, a total of 60 pieces of works were exhibited this time, and they embody the highest level of Shanghai’s contemporary block print art. |
