Visit from the Mayor of Terneuzen the Netherlands

| On the morning of April 2, 2015, accompanied by Ms. XV Qin, director of the Foreign Affairs Office under the Minhang District, a 10-person delegation led by Mr. Jan Lonink, mayor of Terneuzen the Netherlands visited the Shanghai Library. Mr. HE Yi, Shanghai Library deputy director together with staff from the International Cooperation Division received and exchanged ideas with the foreign guests. Mr. HE, on behalf of the Library, first extended welcome to the guests and then expressed appreciation to Mr. Lonink for his efforts to improve the cultural exchanges between the Netherlands and China. Jan Lonink said that the delegation was positively impressed with the development of the Library, and hoped that the libraries of both cities would implement extensive communications and cooperation in the near future. He also brought cordial greetings from the director of the Terneuzen library. After the meeting, the delegation toured around the Shanghai Library, and focused visit in the Ancient Book Area, the New Technology Demo Center, and the Innovation Space. |
