Chief Librarian of the National Assembly Library of the Republic of Korea (ROK) Visits the Shanghai Library
On December 14, 2015, a 5-member delegation headed by Dr. Eun Chul Lee, Chief Librarian of the National Assembly Library of the Republic of Korea (ROK) visited the Shanghai Library, accompanied by Ms. Lee, Consul General of the ROK in Shanghai. Dr. Wu Jianzhong, Director of the Shanghai Library and Ms. Shen Liyun, head of the International Cooperation Division held a conversation with the foreign guests. The purpose of Dr. Lee's visit is to learn about the ideas of the Shanghai Library in constructing a new library building, in order to help the National Assembly Library in the preparatory work for their new library. They also hope to hold an exhibition of the rare materials of Zi Zhi Tong Jian (altogether 59 volumes) which were published in ROK and are now housed in the Shanghai Library. Dr. Wu expressed his support for the proposal, as well as extending thanks to the National Assembly Library for their efforts in the exchange and cooperation between the two libraries. And he expects both sides can have further cooperation in interlibrary loan and personnel exchanges.

After the conversation, accompanied by the staff of the International Cooperation Division, Dr. Lee browsed the precious rare materials of Zi Zhi Tong Jian and visited the Innovation Space of the Shanghai Library.
