China Annual Book Industry Award Announced "Library of the Year" Award Goes to Zhangjiagang
On January 7, 2014, China Annual Book Industry Award was announced in Beijing, and Zhangjiagang City Library was awarded the title of "2014 Library of the Year of China Annual Book Industry".
China Book Industry Yearly Award event was established by the "Publisher" magazine and this is the 8th year. The Library of the Year award is given each year to 1 or 2 libraries, and this year, the Library of Heilongjiang Province was also granted the honor.
In recent years, the Zhangjiagang City Library are among the first in conducting the cultural sharing project to villages and establishing a library (Farm House Library) in every village. It was also the first in the country to set up a book circulation center, realizing the full circulation and sharing of library materials between cities, towns and villages. Meanwhile, it was also the first in the country to establish a reading guidance center, create systematic and universal group reading activities, foster the development of reading communities and reading promoters, and mobilize social forces to promote reading for all. Its model of "Library Inn" is also the first in the country, providing an example for the grassroots libraries to solve the problem of how to establish and manage libraries.
