Shanghai Library Delegation Visited the “Window of Shanghai” Partners in Romania and Bulgaria
Invited by the Universitatea 'Andrei Saguna' Constanta Romania, on Oct. 14, 2015, a delegation of the Shanghai Library composed of deputy director Chen Chao, deputy chief of the Professional Office Jin Yuping, and International Cooperation Division Jin Jing made an investigation of how the “Window of Shanghai” was operating at the University, and then, Mr. Chen Chao gave a lecture entitled “Redefining Reading &Redesigning Library —— Innovation Practices in Shanghai Library”, which was warmly received by the teachers and students.
 
President of the Universitatea 'Andrei Saguna Mr. Aurel Papari, the consul-general of China’s Consulate-General in Constanta Mr. Su Yanwen, and the responsible persons of relevant departments received the delegation. Mr. Papari and Mr. Su highly appreciated the vision of library innovation in Mr. Chen’s lecture. Mr. Papari further thanked the “Window of Shanghai” for the support and assistance given to the University for years in bibliography, and expressed the students and his own love for Chinese culture and their enthusiasm to learn Chinese. Mr. Chen invited Mr. Papari to attend the 8th Shanghai International Library Forum held in 2016 by the Shanghai Library, and Mr. Papari expressed his determination to go.
 
Invited by the Sofia City Library of Bulgaria, on Oct. 16, 2014, the delegation of Shanghai Library visited the Sofia City Library and made an investigation of the “Window of Shanghai” established there. The delegation was warmly received by Director Ms. Julia Tsinzova, the person in charge of the “Window of Shanghai” Ms. Adriana Avramova, and others.

Ms. Tsinzova expressed to Mr. Chen her sincere gratitude for the book donation by the “Window of Shanghai”, and her expectation that both parties could maintain cooperative relations on the project, especially further cooperation in donation of e-books. Mr. Chen highly appreciated what Ms. Tsinzova said, and invited her to attend the 8th Shanghai International Library Forum. In subsequent field surveys, Ms. Avramova showed the delegates around the reading zones at the Sofia City Library, especially the “Window of Shanghai” corner.

The delegation also visited the National Library of Romania and the National Library of Bulgaria, hoping to learn more from overseas counterparts.
