On July 15, the National Museum of Treasured Classics was opened in the National Library of China. The first exhibition "Treasured Items of the National Library of China " was also opened on the same day. It is reported that the first exhibition consists of nine sectons, including rubbings, Dunhuang documents, rare books, maps, celebrities manuscripts, rare Western books, royal architecture blue prints, ancient books of the Chinese ethnic minorities and ancient Chinese classics, with over 800 items on display. This exhibition is the largest exhibition on the treasured items of the library collection in the history of the National Library of China.

During the trial opening period, the National Museum of Museum of Treasured Classics will also launch the Exhibitions on the Brief History of Chinese Ancient Classics, Exhibition on the Ancient Classics of Chinese Ethnic Minorities, Exhibition of Spanish Rare Books and Ehibition of Celebrities Manuscripts
The "National Museum Treasured Classics" was established by the National Library in July 2012, with the purpose to present Chinese classics and promote Chinese culture. It is the museum of classics in the country, having an exhibition space area of 11,549 square meters and nine exhibition halls. The National Museum of Treasured Classics is a new form of library reading services and a new platform for research and cultural exchange, with the major functions for collection, conservation and education, research and fully integrating the features the library and museum, so that they can each play their role on services and "allow words written in the ancient texts come to life."
The National Museum of Treasured Items is opened in different stages. July 15 to July 31 is the period for internal testing. Starting on August 1, 2014, the museum will receive group visits by appointment. The opening hours is Tuesday to Sunday 9:00-16:45, and closed on Mondays. During the testing opening period, the daily number of visitors is limited to 2,000. Reservation three days in advance (only for groups of 10 people or more) is required. Starting from July 27, group visits can make an appointment by calling number 010-88544757 and access the website (http://www.nlc.gov.cn/nmcb/index.htm). On September 9, at the 105 anniversary of the National Library, the "National Museum of Treasured Classics" will be officially opened and access for individual readers is available. During the testing period, nine exhibitions will be held to show to the public, and the first exhibition is expected to last three months.
