If in the eyes of each person there is a Journey to the West, then the 1986 edition of the TV series Journey to the West is certainly the common memory of most of us. Once the show was launched, it received a high evaluation and has become an unsurpassable classic recognized by all. To a lot of people, except Liu Xiaolingtong, no one is able to play the role of the Monkey King. And what is his understanding of the Journey to the West? 
Liu Xiaolingtong, the famous actor will be a guest of the Shanghai Library Lectures, and we can have the opportunity to enjoy Journey to the West together with the Monkey King.
Introduction to the Guest Speaker:
The real name of Liu Xiaolingtong is Zhang Jinlai and he is the youngest son of the South Monkey King “Liu Lingtong”. He was born in Shanghai on April 12, 1959, and is a native of Shaoxing, Zhejiang province. He is currently a first-rate actor at the CCTV and the Chinese Television Play Production Center. He was born in the family of “Zhang’s Monkey Theater”, and began the apprenticeship with his father in his childhood. After graduating from the high school in Shanghai in June 1976, he was admitted into the School of Kunqu Opera Arts in Zhejiang province, specializing in the role of Wusheng. He starred in many Kunqu operas adapted from the episodes of the novel Journey to the West and other well-known Kunqu operas, such as “Wu Song”, “Crossroads”, and etc. He played the role of the Monkey King in the CCTV TV series "Journey to the West", which was broadcasted in the United States, Japan, Germany, France and Southeast Asian countries to wide acclaim, and since then Liu Xiaolingtong has become a household name, and is renowned in both China and the world.
