The lecture will be given with Er-hu played intermittently, so that the instrument can be introduced in a more brisk and vivid manner and the audience can feel its beauty more specifically and lively. Besides, they can also enjoy the performance given by “Fragrant Lily” Band composed of students from Shanghai Conservatory of Music and the primary school and middle school attached. This year, the band won Gold Award in “Chinese-Foreign Er-hu Contest” held in Korea.

/Web/Web/Userfiles\000000000000/Content/20141126.jpg Wang Lili, a well-known Er-hu player and educator, and associate professor and graduate advisor of Shanghai Conservatory of Music. At the age of 5, she began to learn Er-hu from her father; in 1978, she was admitted by the primary school attached to Shanghai Conservatory of Music; in 1982, she was admitted by the middle school attached to Shanghai Conservatory of Music; in 1988, with excellent performance, she was recommended for admission to be an undergraduate at Shanghai Conservatory of Music; in 1991, as a junior, she attended the 14th “Spring of Shanghai” National Er-hu Contest, and won the first place in professional team; in the same year, she was conferred upon the Bachelor’s Degree in advance, and has been teaching at the middle school attached to Shanghai Conservatory of Music ever since.
