The 10th China-Japan Symposium on Library Held at the Kyoto University

On October 18 to 19, jointly organized by the Shanghai Library and the Japan Library Research Society, the 10th "China-Japan Symposium on Library" was held at the Kyoto University. The meeting conducted a warm discussion on the theme "Reflections on the Frontline Reader Services and the Service Users". Liu Yan, Director of the Shanghai Library Reader Service Center, Zhang Qian, a librarian from the Acquisitions and Cataloging Center, Xu Hongyu and Huan Ji from the Information Consultation and Research Center attended the meeting and gave speeches.   More than 60 people, including experts and scholars from the local public libraries and university libraries, as well as publisher distribution personnel attended the seminar. Four representatives, including Mr. Hiroshi Ozawa from the National Diet Library also gave speeches at the meeting. 
The "China-Japan Symposium on Library" is an important international library conference, held twice every three years in Japan and China. The seminar has not only effectively promoted the Sino-Japanese academic and cultural exchange in the Chinese and Japanese library communities, but also enhanced the friendship between the Chinese and Japanese people.
