At 9.30 a.m. on September 2, 2013，a 10-person visiting delegation composed of Mr. DAI Haibo, Deputy Secretary General of Shanghai Municipal People’s Government, Mr. LI Mingjun, Director General of Shanghai Municipal Foreign Affairs Office, Mr. SHOU Ziqi, Director General of Shanghai Municipal Commission of Science and Technology, Mr. TANG Zhiping, Director General of Shanghai Urban Construction and Communications Commission, Mr. HU Jinjun, Director General of Shanghai Municipal Administration of Culture, Radio, Film and TV and so forth arrived at the Zagreb City Libraries of Croatia. Together with Mr. Tedi Lusetic, Deputy Head of City Department of Culture, Education and Sport of Zagreb, Ms. Davorka Bastić, Director of Zagreb City Libraries, Ms. Ljiljana Sabljak, Head of City Library of Zagreb, and the 30 others, the Shanghai delegation attended the “Window of Shanghai” E-book Service inauguration ceremony jointly held by the Zagreb City Libraries and the Shanghai Library.

Before the ceremony, Ms. Davorka Bastić introduced the two libraries’ cooperation and the popularity of the “Jinshan Peasant Paintings” among the Zagreb readers. The certain for the ceremony was rung up at 10.00 a.m. Ms. Davorka Bastić and Ms. Ljiljana Sabljak respectively addressed the ceremony to welcome the Shanghai delegation and express their appreciations for the support from Shanghai, the donation from the Shanghai Library and the related works done by the Library staff. In return, the Zagreb City Libraries provided the Shanghai Library a website named “Digitized Zagreb Heritage”, in which the digital reproductions of invaluable and rare materials of the City Library collections are accessible to readers. Mr. HU Jinjun then made a speech to showed gratitude to the Zagreb side for their great supports and hoped that the “Window of Shanghai” E-book service, as a more efficient and better service mode, would further promote understanding and friendship between the people of Shanghai and Zagreb, facilitate the continuous cultural exchange and cooperation in both cities, and make its new and unique contributions to promote China-Croatia cultural exchanges.

After that, Mr. DAI Haibo and Mr. Tedi Lusetic together started the E-book service with their own hands. This service website obtained a high click-through-rate not long after the inauguration, indicating its popularity among the local readers.
