On the occasion of its 104th anniversary, the National Library of China launched a range of initiatives for reader services, including further loosening the age requirement for the admission of readers, expanding teenage reader services and organizing exhibitions and lectures to meets the needs of teenage readers. From September 9, the National Library opened its public service area to teenage readers. The open access area for Chinese and foreign language materials in the main library receives readers aged over 13 instead of 16. The National Library’s Children's Library receives children over 12 years old. It organizes daily guided tours of the library for children below the age of 12. It also receives organized group visits of the library for primary and secondary school students all the year round. |
