Lin Shirong’s Prints Exhibition Was Held in the Shanghai Library

In the morning of August 23, 2013, the ceremony for the opening of“Lin Shirong’s Prints Exhibition” and the donation of his works was held at Exhibition No. 1 of the Shanghai Library. The exhibition is organized by the Chinese Cultural Celebrities Manuscripts Library of the Shanghai Library and the Committee of Printmaking of the the Shanghai Artists Association. Wu Jianzhong, Director of the Shanhghai Library accepted the donation on behalf of the Shanghai Library and delivered a donation certificate to Mr. Lin. Zhou Deming, deputy director of the Shanghai Library, Zhao Lihong, Vice Chairman of the Shanghai Writers Association, Professor Chen Zishan from the East China Normal University, Zhou Guobin, Vice Chairman of the Committee of Printmaking, Shanghai Artists Association, Wang Jieyin, former vice chairman of the Shanghai Artists Association, Professor Xu Longbao from the Art School of the Shanghai University and Li Shirong jointly cut ribbon for the ceremony. Huang Xiangong, Direcotr of the Shanghai Library’s Historical Document Center presided over the ceremony.

Lin Shirong is among the print artists whose works are of the largest numbers in the Shanghai Library collection. This time he donated to the Shanghai Library 57 prints 57 and 63 bookplates. “Lin Shirong’s Prints Exhibition” is the 4th solo exhibition of a Shanghai print artist held by the Shanghai Library since starting to solicit prints, presenting Lin’s creative achievements over the years. The Illustrated catalog of the exhibition "Lin Shirong’s Collected Prints" will by published by the Shanghai Fine Arts Publishing House.
