On August 16, 2013, the Second International Summit of the Book was held in the National Library of Singapore. Together with 12 guests from the library and publishing communities from the U.S.A, U.K., Germany, Australia, New Zealand, India, Singapore and etc, Wu Jianzhong, Director of the Shanghai Library gave a speech on the theme of the future of books and libraries. Director Wu Jianzhong’s topic is People, Flexibility and Value. The speech was published in Singapore’s Lianhe Zaobao on August 19. During the conference, Director Wu Jianzhong also accepted an interview from "Straits Times", the English-language newspaper in Singapore.
