Introduction
Throughout history, five wars occurred between China and Japan. After the founding of the new China, the four decades of bilateral relationship has been full of frictions, and at the moment, it has even reached the point of looking for a fight. The two cultures are interacting with each in the visible and invisible smoke of gunpowder. From political relations to cultural exchanges, what kind of relationship is between China and Japan in the end? How should we think of this relationship?

 Li Changsheng, an expert on Japanese history of publishing culture is invited to give a lecture at the Shanghai Library, talking on the two thousand years of Sino-Japanese relations.
Li Changsheng is a Chinese writer currently living in Japan and an expert on the history of Japanese publishing culture. Born in 1949 in Changchun, he was Deputy Chief Editor of the magazine "Japanese Literature”. In 1988, he went to study in Japan, and was once majored in the history of Japanese publishing culture. He encourages himself with the motto of “observing the society diligently, and reading and writing abundantly". Since the 1990s, he has been writing column articles for newspapers in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangdong and Taiwan, and has published such collections as Reading under the Cherry Trees, Ri Zhi Manlu, East West Tours and Talks, and a dozen others. He has also translated Japanese books into Chinese, including Twilight Samurai and etc.
