Shanghai Library and the Taipei Public Library Conduct Interlibrary Book Exchange

At the 2013 City Forum on Cooperation between Shanghai and Taipei yesterday, Shanghai and Taipei signed four memoranda for cooperation, including the Memorandum signed between the Shanghai Library and Taipei Public Library. According to the memorandum, both sides agree to conduct exchanges and cooperation on books, reference services, document delivery services and personnel training, and provide mutual assistance, following the relevant policies established by both sides. The two sides will regularly provide each other bibliographies for selecting and exchanging books. The books for the exchange can be the duplicate copies in the library collection or books published in the last three years. The two sides will also carry out cooperation and exchanges on such areas as digital library and database construction, library collection organization and preservation, network services, reference services and document delivery services, as well as actively encouraging personal exchange and professional staff training programs between the two libraries, sharing academic research and practical management experience, and promoting interlibrary cooperation.
