The Deputy Speaker of Parliament of Sri Lanka visited the Shanghai Library

On May 17, 2013, a delegation of Association for Sri Lanka – China Social and Cultural Co-operation, headed by Mr. Chandima Weerakkody, the Deputy Speaker of Parliament of Sri Lanka, accompanied by Mr. Liu Hong Min from the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and Mr. Song Chun Lin, Shanghai People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, visited the Shanghai Library.

Mr. He Yi, the deputy Director of the Library received them and gave a brief introduction of the Shanghai Library and “Window of Shanghai” in Lakshman Kadirgamar Institute of International Relations and Strategic Studies, Sri Lanka. Mr. Weerakkody appreciated the efforts of what the Shanghai Library does for improving the culture exchange and development between two countries.

After the meeting, the delegation visited the Ancient Books Restoration Room and New Technology Demo Center, accompanied by Mr. He and the staff from the International Cooperation Division.
