2. The Gramophone Record – from physical to digital

The exhibition features old music records selected from Shanghai Library’s 200,000+ gramophone records and reviews the digitization efforts in the recent years as well as the donated items from all walks of life.
3. 2012 Shanghai Citizen Digital Reading Campaign –Library Digital Resources & New Digital Tech Demonstrations

Aiming to foster citizens’ digital reading habits, this Campaign features an integrated access called “Integrated Digital Reading Site” (see the URL above) to the various digital resources held by Shanghai Library – that is, 1 million e-books, 10,000 e-magazines, nearly 1,000 e-newspapers, and a variety of thematic and disciplinary databases -- as well as an array of online services including e-lending, online book reservation, virtual reference Q&A, mobile web APP, virtual exhibitions, online lecture VOD and micro-blogging service.
The web portal of the Campaign was unveiled on May 28. On the opening ceremony Shanghai Library entered into memorandum of understanding for cooperation with the Shanda Literature to make its online digital literature resources available to the library users. Meanwhile, the e-lending service with e-reading devices and contents was officially launched in joint efforts with five district and county public libraries.
The web portal integrates adequate digital resources including e-books, e-magazines and e-newspapers, and is compatible with almost all mobile devices including e-readers, tablets, mobile phones or PDAs.
4. Calligraphic and Photographic Works by Mr. YANG Taiwei
