On 13th March, 2012, Mr. Sean Campell, an artist from Ireland, paid a visit to the Shanghai Library and discussed with library director Dr. WU Jianzhong. Director WU first introduced the Light from Light – an exhibition once jointly hosted by the Shanghai Library and the State Library of Queensland, and then told the artist about the development and status quo of the Shanghai Library. Later, Mr. Campell was showed around the library, which made a strong impression on him.
