1.       The Shanghai Library opens 12 hours a day (7 hours in the national holidays) and 365/366 days a year.

2.       The Library issues the library cards for free.

3.       Services will be delivered with warmth by staff wearing the employee cards by which they are identified.

4.       Questions from readers will be fielded instantly and satisfyingly. Efficient assistance to search the library resources is guaranteed.

5.       The requested book stored in any close stack of the Shanghai Library (the main library) will be delivered to the reader in less than 30min in the normal conditions.

6.       Any query request to the ‘Collaborative Online Reference Service’ will be responded within 48 hours.

7.       Readers are entitled to all the public, admission-free lectures organised by the Shanghai Library with tickets acquired beforehand.

8.       All the cultural and arts exhibitions will be available to readers free of charge.
