SILF 2012 Made 2nd Call-for-Papers Announcement

The sixth Shanghai International Library Forum (SILF 2012) issued the second announcement to solicit worldwide paper contribution and participation.

The SILF 2012, themed “Smart City & Library Service”, will be held from July 17th to 19th, 2012 in conjunction with the celebration of the 60th birthday of the Shanghai Library. Mrs Ingrid Parent, the current IFLA President and Librarian of the University of British Columbia, will address the conference plenary as a keynoter.

Papers are expected to center on topics including “Library as an Infrastructure for Research and Learning”, “Coming of the New Integrated Library System: Supporting Cloud Computing and Mobile Services”, “Enabling Librarians to Proliferate Digital Reading and Preserve Digital Memories”, “Management and Performance Evaluation of a Hybrid Library”, “Library Technical Service with Semantic Technologies” and “The Core Values and Competitiveness of the Physical Library in an Omni-media Age”. The closing dates for abstract and full paper submission are respectively February 15th and April 20th.

Abstracts of papers offered for presentation at SILF 2012 will also be considered by the Editors of Libri: international journal of libraries and information services; and authors of papers on suitable topics will be invited to submit their papers or a revised version for consideration for publication in the journal.
