Beijing is going to be the home to the first new material library in China by the end of the upcoming September, according to a recent announcement made by the New York-based global materials consultancy, Material ConneXion.
Material ConneXion is a global materials consultancy that helps companies innovate through smart materials thinking. It maintains the largest subscription-based Materials Library of innovative materials and processes in the world and a comprehensive online database – an indispensable asset to a wide audience of designers and architects and a vital tool for the development of design, industry and economy.
The Beijing Material ConneXion Library, scheduled to open in conjunction with the ‘Beijing International Design Week’ from September 26th through October 3rd of this year, is located on the eighth floor of the Xi Hai 2008 of Beijing’s CBD area Haidian District.
It will offer the same services as its six other global locations: a library with information of some 6500 kinds of new materials as well as more than 1000 pieces of tangible prototypes; consulting service -- customized materials research and product development support; and a wide range of public programing, including exhibitions and conferences focused on materials innovation.
“China is a vital and obvious next step for us,” said George M. Beylerian, Founder & CEO of Material ConneXion. “We are excited to gain a foothold in this rapidly evolving market, and there is tremendous potential for Material ConneXion to help drive innovation in China.”
