Making a congratulatory speech to the library, Vice Mayor Tu hoped WS would make Shanghai understood by more Sofia citizens. He welcomed them to come to Shanghai to feel in person the charm of this oriental pearl. He also hoped the culture exchange between Shanghai and Bulgaria would get promotion constantly.

Bulgaria attached great importance to culture and education, Mayor Sotirov said, so the book donation was a significant cooperation between Shanghai and Bulgaria. WS, to some extent, was a window of Chinese spirit, through which Bulgarian could be more familiar with Shanghai and China.

Shanghai Library first donated 777 titles, altogether 800 volumes of books to Sofia City Library and designed an original unveiling approach, which was a 30-second flash video, showing the new view of Shanghai, the printing resources of Shanghai Library and the purposes of WS program.
